  • Juniors and Seniors-Please remember we have started having College visits in the Counseling office this week. Start by checking on Naviance, there is a complete list of all colleges that have signed up to come visit.
  • This week the Cardinal Theatre kicks off its 2019-2020 season with the musical INSIDE OUT! A women’s therapy group, headed by their group therapist is transformed forever when a former pop star joins the group and winds up being a catalyst for change in the lives of a flower child of the 1980’s; a powerful businesswoman who has problems balancing work and home; a gay bank employee and single mom of a teenage son; and a mother of two young children who is dealing with weight issues. Come see this hilarious and heartwarming musical! September 6th, 7th, 12th and 14th at 8PM. Visit for box office information!
  • The Community Service Club will be meeting tomorrow, Wednesday 9/4 at 3:10 in room 120. Everyone is welcome
  • Attention juniors and seniors: Ohio Lions is celebrating its 100th birthday and would love for you to be a part of it! Ohio Lions is looking for a current high school junior or senior to create a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to spread the word about Ohio Lions.  To enter, you must create a script for a 30 second audio PSA encouraging people to get involved with their local Lions Club. The winning PSAs will be used by Ohio Lions to spread the word about Lionism. The creator of the winning PSA will receive a $500 scholarship, the runner up will receive $300 to continue their education after high school. Ohio Lions is a division of Lions Clubs International. Since 1920 Ohio Lions have been serving their communities.  Lions are groups of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities.  Lions participate in many kinds of projects, including assisting those in need, sponsoring international exchanges for young people, providing supplies to victims of natural disasters, and bringing clean drinking water to remote villages.  Today there are 12,000 members in over 400 clubs located in the state of Ohio. All submissions must be received no later than: December 1, 2019.  For more information, check Google Classroom or see Ms. Greenwald in Central Office.
  • Interested in seeing the Tower of London, the Eiffel Tower, and the Gothic Quarter all on the same trip?  There will be an informational meeting for the Europe trip this summer to London, Paris, and Barcelona tomorrow at 7 pm in the library.  See Mr. Brienza if you have questions.


  • Interested in proactively learning about how to prevent gun violence? Do you want to hear David Hogg, one of the most vocal survivors of the Majory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting speak about his experiences and work to decrease gun violence? Come to room 282 after school this Thursday to learn more.  Meeting will run from 3:15-4pm, at the latest.
  • Do you like trivia? Do you watch Jeopardy? If so, then come to room 21 after school on September 5th to join the Thomas Worthington In The Know Team. The In The Know team takes part in academic trivia competitions against schools from all over Central Ohio. If you join the team, you will get a chance to answer questions about math, science, social studies, art, music, language arts, and many other subject areas. If you join the team, you may also have the chance to compete in the WOSU In The Know tournament that is televised on PBS. The In The Know tournament is a 64 team single elimination tournament and over the last three years, Thomas Worthington has made the Final Match as well as the Final Eight. So, if you like trivia and want a chance to be on TV, come to our first meeting of the year after school this Thursday in room 021.
  • Pass/Fail deadline and dropping class without a failing grade deadline is September 11. If you have considered either of these options please come to the Counseling office for more information.



  • Are you interested in science? Do you love solving problems? Then join the TWHS Science Olympiad Team. This is a fast paced, competitive science competition. Our first meeting is Thursday, September 12 in room 156. See your science teacher for more information. 
  • Would you like to travel to Puerto Rico during the spring break of 2020 with the Worthington Field Studies and earn a half elective science credit? The group will go snorkeling, swim at beaches, and go zip lining in the rain forest while we study the different ecosystems in Puerto Rico. Come to a meeting on September 19 at 7:00 pm in room 176 at TWHS. If you are interested, but you cannot come to the meeting, please contact Mr. Spencer at TWHS for the application and forms for the trip.
