The Fall season comes with more than just a pumpkin spice latte and a chill breeze in the air. Football games, apple picking, corn mazes, Halloween, the list goes on and on. Although many of these activities come with high expenses, there are many options for a cost of little to nothing.

  1. Go on a hike at a local metro park. Columbus, Ohio has a few different metro parks. The most popular one is known as Highbanks Metro Park located in the Lewis Center. It is a common spot for families to take their partners and or children for a nice relaxing hike in the cool fall weather.
  2. Watch a halloween movie It could be a scary horror movie or a family-friendly movie. Snuggle in with friends or family, light a candle, and grab some popcorn! Some classic Halloween movies include Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town, and The Shining.
  3. Go to a pumpkin patch If you and your family are willing to spend a little bit of money, going to a pumpkin patch can be a super fun activity for kids and adults. Ride on a tractor, find the most good-looking pumpkins, take them home, and carve them with friends or family.
  4. Make Caramel Apples This classic fall sweet treat is actually super easy to create at home. The 3 ingredient recipe includes apples (green or red), store-bought caramel candies, and heavy cream!
  5. Go apple picking Another great fall activity if you are willing to spend some money is apple picking. Which you could then use to make your caramel apples if you want them even more fresh and sweet! A fun event to take your friends and family to that will help with bonding/quality time.

As the leaves continue to change colors, there are many options for you and your friends or family to get out and experience. Make as many memories as possible this fall, enjoy it to the fullest.
