- Want to get into the Holiday Spirit? Want to avoid being a Grinch and have your heart grow three sizes in one day? Thomas Worthington High school is participating in their annual toy drive for elementary schools in the Chillicothe area. For many of these students, this will be the only gift they receive. If you want to be Santa’s helper this year, see Mr. Pflieger (A303), Ms. Ohm(A206), Mrs. Adkins (A246), or Mr. Haskell (A243) to adopt a student and purchase them a gift. You might even end up on Santa’s Good list!

- Did you know that Thomas Worthington is starting a new Winter Girl’s Varsity sport this year? Girls’ wrestling is the fastest-growing sport in America. In Girls’ Wrestling, Girls only compete against other girls who are the same size. No experience is necessary…Because it’s a brand new OHSAA-sanctioned sport in Ohio, EVERYONE is new, so it’s a great time to get in on the ground level. We are looking for all girls. Not sure if you want to commit? That’s OK. Please come to our very short informational meeting next Tuesday, October 29th after school in the Cards Center. That is next Tuesday, October 29th after school for a short informational meeting on our newest varsity sport, Girl’s Wrestling.
- Attention all female athletes: There will be an informational softball meeting in the Cards center starting at 3:30 on Wednesday October 30. The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes. Please reachout to coach Finn with questions.
- Interested in being in a musical or children’s show? The TWHS Repertory Theatre will be holding auditions for this upcoming second semester shows on November 4th-6th at 6:00pm in room 177 in the LEM. We will be auditioning for both musicals: Shrek and 9 to 5, as well as Snowflakes, the children’s show that will tour the elementary schools. Monday November 4th are underclassmen auditions, November 5th is for upperclassmen and the 6th is reserved for callbacks. All are welcome! - All this week and next Student Council is sponsoring a coat and winter clothing drive to help out local families in need this winter. Please bring in gently used coats, jackets, hats, scarves, and mittens to participating teachers before Friday, November 1st. The class that brings in the most items will get a Donut Party on the Friday of their choice. We will keep you updated this week with who is in the lead!
- Do you love cats? Are you looking for an exciting volunteer opportunity after school? Join the new “Cats and Kindness” club here at TWHS! Our club is dedicated to promoting animal welfare, particularly helping cats in need in Central Ohio. Our first planning meeting will be Thursday October 31st after school in Mr. Joyce’s room A306 in the new building. A representative from the “Cat Welfare Association” will be available to answer questions and discuss shelter volunteer opportunities. We hope to see you there!
