When the Thomas Worthington Cardinals varsity football team faced Dublin Coffman on October 2nd, 2015 they were without Sophomore starting cornerback Dakarey Williams. In the loss to Westland on September 24th, Williams suffered an injury in the second quarter of the game. While trying to make a tackle, he collided with a teammate and could not leave the field on his own power. He had to be taken off by a trainer, and did not return to the field. He was then taken on an ambulance to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a deep tissue over his femur.

Williams’ Sophomore year has been solid as he has started the first five games on varsity and in those five games has had nine tackles total, with 3 coming against Kilbourne and 6 from the beginning of the season, a pass breakup, and an interception. The Cards lost  to Dublin Coffman 49-0 with Williams out. Williams did come back sooner than expected, though, as he played in the October 9th loss against Marysville. On a bright note for the Cards, what could have been a season ending injury for him only resulted in him missing one game. The Cardinals and Williams return to action and take on Central Crossing in an away game on Friday, October 16th.
