Hillary Clinton to Participate in Vote Recounts

Green Party candidate Jill Stein is requesting a recount in the state of Wisconsin, and plans to push for recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania, all of which are battleground states won by Donald Trump. The Clinton Campaign has announced its intentions to assist in the recount.

This move by Hillary Clinton is especially shocking considering that she conceded the race to Donald Trump, basically admitting defeat before the race was officially over. This action also makes her appear as a hypocrite, as Donald Trump’s resistance to accepting poll results if he lost was one of the things that Hillary used against him during her campaign.

Clinton’s involvement in the recount has been criticized by some members of her own campaign, but has been more noticeably criticized by Donald Trump himself. Trump went on twitter to call the recount effort a scam on the side of Jill Stein, and went on to attack Hillary Clinton for her involvement.

“The Green Party scam to fill up their coffers by asking for impossible recounts is now being joined by the badly defeated & demoralized Dems” he tweeted about the recount in general. He then turned to attack the Clinton Campaign for their involvement.

“Hillary Clinton conceded the election when she called me just prior to the victory speech and after the results were in. Nothing will change.” he posted, along with many other attacks directed toward her campaign during his Twitterstorm against her.

The recounts have also raised the hopes of some that believe Clinton should be in office, however, it is unlikely that the battleground state recounts will change the results of the election. It has been noted if the recounts somehow do change the winner to Clinton in those states, then she will have won the electoral college. It’s an extremely long shot, and no one should stake anything on that possibility. The last thing we need is another insignificant reason to divide the nation further.
