Worthington Farmer’s Market

Worthington+Farmers+Market

Living in Worthington, most people are familiar with the Saturday morning shopping buzz of the Farmer’s Market that fills High Street in the summer and fall.  More than 75 vendors gather downtown to sell locally grown fruits, vegetables, homemade soaps and other products.  However, this weekly event does not stop when temperature drops.  From November to April, the market is held at the Shops at Worthington Place (the Worthington Mall), at the same Saturday morning time.

The vendors from Gillogly Orchard in New Albany, Ohio enjoy the temporary change to the indoor location. “It’s nice to have more room to move around.  You don’t always have curious dogs peering at  your products, and strollers have a little better accessibility.”

This extra space also makes it easier for vendors to set up a more organized and creative display, as can be seen at the very decorative, and colorful stand of “Sadie Baby Sweets.”

Worthington resident, Bonnie Worden, has been attending the Worthington Farmer’s market almost every week for about 30 years.  “I love meeting and talking with the vendors, and purchasing locally grown fruits and vegetables,” she says, “I also enjoy the homemade baked goods and flowers, and look forward to attending the market every Saturday.”  When the market continues through the winter, this enjoyable atmosphere can be enjoyed throughout the dreary winter months.
