Announcements for February 8th and 9th, 2021

  • In an effort to celebrate this Black History Month we will be airing little known Black History facts throughout the month.
    • Many years before Colin Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem, two other athletes sent a powerful message about their unity with Black America. During the 1968 Olympic games in Mexico City, competitors Tommie Smith and John Carlos wore black gloves and gave a salute during the National anthem

  • Obviously, the 2020-2021 School Year was deprived of a proper Homecoming. However, we want to make sure the Class of 2021 is honored and knows that they are loved.
    • The 2021 TWHS Cupid’s Court will work towards this goal. It will be made up of all Seniors. Six seniors will be selected to serve on Court with the top two being deemed “Cardinal Royalty.” Over the past few days, the Staff of TWHS was asked to nominate up to two seniors that they think reflect the best of TWHS. You’ll find the ballot posted in your Graduating class’ Schoology Page. Don’t see someone you think should be on Court below? Fear not! There is a write-in option! Voting Ends Wednesday 2/10 at 3:05pm

  • The Latinx Club will be hosting the “Spread the Love” Fundraiser in which they will be selling flower grams for $1 each in front of the aviary. They will be selling from February 4th through February 9th during all lunch periods and will be delivering them from February 10th through the 12th during 3rd period. All the proceeds will be donated to the Ohio Hispanic Coalition which helps hispanic families all throughout the Columbus area.

  • Any female athlete interested in playing softball this spring, please go to the softball page located on the schools athletic website to find contact information for coach Finn. Email coach Finn so that he can provide you with information on the upcoming season, which starts on February 22nd.

It’s a great day to be a cardinal.
