Announcements for March 14, 2022

  1. Spring state testing is quickly approaching. We will be testing on April 4th, 5th, 27th, 28th, and 29th. Testing information will be sent individually to students via their school email. We will be on an altered bell schedule for each of those testing days in April. For testing, you will need to bring your district issued Chromebook charged, and ready to use. If you have not received a district-issued Chromebook, please stop in the library or central office. If you have any questions, see Lou Thomas in Central office.
  2. Attention Seniors: Apply now for Local Scholarships! Local scholarships worth over $50,000 are now posted on the TWHS website under the School Counseling tab. Click Local Scholarships to review the list of scholarships and download applications. Generally, (though not all) applications are due back to the School Counseling office by Friday, April 1st, 2022 by 3:15 PM. Respectfully, late applications will not be accepted. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Preisse or Mrs. Swearingen in the School Counseling office!
  3. The TWHS Girls of Color Club and Student Council will be holding a Toiletry Drive from Thursday, March 17th to Friday, March 25th. Collections will be donated to BQIC’s Free Resource Friday program, which provides clothes, food, and hygiene products to residents of Columbus’ predominantly Black, low-income neighborhoods. For this drive, we will be specifically focusing on hygiene products, such as oral care products, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, bath products, and more. The teacher whose classes collect the most items will receive a donut party! Teachers, fill out the form sent to your email if you would like to have your classes participate: https://forms.gle/NJ1xuSr5LdCaJHoa8
  4. Seniors, you are wise! Underclassmen need your wisdom as they move through high school at T.W. Have you learned how to manage school effectively? Do you have tips on how to “make it a great day”? Please visit the Senior Schoology page or find a posted QR code around school to fill out a form that will share your wisdom with younger students.
  5. Attention Juniors and Seniors: Are you looking for part-time employment over the summer or next school year? Are you interested in working full-time next year to save money for school? We have an awesome opportunity for you! On Thursday, March 31, we are going to host our annual Job Fair at the Worthington Education Center from 9:30-11:30 AM.
    • We expect you to prepare a resume, dress professionally, and be ready to interview with potential future employers. We will have a wide variety of employers there including: Worthington Industries, Chic fil A, Aquatots, Columbus Zoo and more! You will have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews as well.
    • Stop by the School Counseling Office for a permission slip if you need transportation for this event. If you have any additional questions, see your School Counselor!

If you have any announcements or song requests please send them to [email protected].

It’s always a great day to be a Cardinal!
