The new natatorium at Thomas Worthington Highschool is one of the many new things that have been added to the school since it has been remodeled. The swimmers at the high school have been really excited about the new updated space, and what it means for their sports.
Senior Sevi kissling, is on the Varsity Water polo and swimming team, and has been a captain on both teams since junior year.
¨ The old one was rotting on the inside, rust was everywhere, the metal was corroded. Everything was just disgusting. And it was like 50 years old. It was definitely due for a new one.¨
Senior Logan Ament, has been on both Varsity teams for 4 years, and is now the captain of both teams.
¨Biggest difference between old and new is the amount of lanes, going from 6 to 10 is a huge difference. My favorite part of the new building is the size of the cafeteria and that the food is 1000 times better than the old one. It was definitely time to get a new natatorium because the old ones’ air system kept messing up, the water temperature was never consistent, and the overall cleanliness was just not there. Mostly im going to miss the locker room and our old starting blocks because we had a lot more space in the old locker room and the old blocks were much more stable.¨
Looking at it from a spectator/fan standpoint, Levi Eddy, Senior at Thomas Worthington has been a fan for over 5 years starting in 7th grade.
“I like the new natatorium alot, My personal favorite part about the new building compared to the old is how much cleaner it feels, and the pool is a lot nicer. It almost made me wanna put on a speedo and go swim in it. The seats are a little uncomfortable though, but I wasn’t expecting the most comfortable seats. Overall though, it was a very nice arena and I can’t wait to watch the boys swim.
Seems like fans, and especially players are excited about the new natatorium and all it has to offer.
It is a whole new chapter for TWHS swimming and everyone is ready to dive in.
